Unique Proposals for St Mirren Football Club
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the proposal for the first-of-a-kind opportunity for a partnership between fans and a social care charity to take forward fan ownership of St Mirren FC; understands that the plans state that St Mirren Independent Supporters Association (SMISA) will have a 51% stake in the club by the end of 2021 if they go ahead; acknowledges that the three different partners involved in the scheme are the major shareholder, Gordon Scott, SMISA and Kibble, a social care charity that has been based in Paisley since the 19th century, and trusts that these plans conform to the development of St Mirren FC as a socially responsible, fan-owned community club.
