Orkney Named Scotland's Best Place to Live
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Orkney on being named best place to live in Scotland in the Bank of Scotland’s annual Quality of Life survey for the eighth consecutive year; understands that the islands benefit from relatively high employment levels, low levels of crime, strong academic performance and good health; acknowledges the strengths of Scotland’s islands communities, but recognises the challenges that they can face with issues such as connectivity and retaining skilled workers, and appreciates the efforts of all who make their communities attractive places to live, work, visit and do business.
