10th Anniversary of the Kirkcaldy Street Pastors
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the Kirkcaldy Street Pastors project on its 10th anniversary; notes that, since 2010, the mission of the blue-jacketed team of volunteers from the town's churches has been to keep late night revellers enjoying the Kirkcaldy nightlife safe and to help, care and listen to people in need; understands that each pastor receives over 20 hours of training in many areas, including first aid, drugs awareness, mental health, their roles and responsibilities and listening skills, as well as the Gospel; notes that this training is continuous to ensure that everyone taking part is kept up to date; commends the pastors' contribution to the community; wishes everyone involved with the project well, and encourages the community to support the "nighthawks".
