Lottery Funding for Befriend Motherwell SCIO
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Befriend Motherwell SCIO on receiving £122,676 from the National Lottery Community Fund; understands that the Motherwell-based charity supports people aged over 65 to help tackle isolation and loneliness; notes that this grant will enable it to further its vision of supporting older people in the Motherwell area through befriending groups or one-to-one befriending at different residential housing complexes across the town; acknowledges that the funding will help the charity carry out various activities throughout the year, including crafts, outings and games, which will be hosted by either one its staff members or a fully-trained volunteer, and wishes everyone involved with the project all the very best going forward.
