Kingsmeadow Nursery, STEM Education
The motion
That the Parliament commends Kingsmeadow Nursery in Peebles on introducing STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) learning as part of its curriculum; understands that the inclusion of STEM exploration with the children was developed after the nursery worked with Jennifer Allan, an education and social sciences lecturer from the University of West Scotland; notes that the nursery has found that STEM exploration helps children to develop their literacy and numeracy skills as well as their problem solving and critical thinking abilities; congratulates the staff of Kingsmeadow Nursery on their commitment to STEM education, and wishes them all the best for the future.
