The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Archway, a charity that provides support and respite to almost 200 families, as it celebrates its 30th anniversary; understands that Archway opened its first care home on Westburn Road, Aberdeen, in 1990, and has since gone on to provide additional services, including respite breaks, a holiday home in Nairn, day activities and a weekly social club; recognises Archway’s introduction of additional services for vulnerable people in Aberdeen, including a respite service at Two Mile Cross, Garthdee, and 2019’s opening of a supported living service at St Margaret’s Place; notes that, in recognition of its 30th anniversary, Archway will host 30 themed events such as 30 stories about its service users celebrating their 30th birthdays, and launching a £30,000 anniversary appeal to upgrade one of its respite services; understands that Archway is also in the process of preparing the launch of a £250,000 major appeal to develop another supported living service to support independent living for service users with learning disabilities; commends the management, staff, volunteers and service users of Archway, and wishes it continued success in all of its projects and appeals.
