Congratulations to Man Chat Aberdeen on First Anniversary
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Man Chat Aberdeen on its first anniversary; understands that Man Chat was set up in Aberdeen by Wray Thomson to assist men who are dealing with depression and suicidal thoughts; recognises that Man Chat does not discriminate against any causes of depression and accepts men of all ages and backgrounds; understands that it has over 19,000 followers on social media and holds two weekly meetings for men to talk through their issues, and has an active support group; recognises that the organisation has been widely praised by mental health professionals in Aberdeen and has had many professionals attend the meetings to give support and advice to men experiencing depression; recognises that, since the success of Man Chat has been so great, the organisers have launched Woman Chat, the same service of support and meetings for women of all backgrounds and ages; wishes the organisers well in their future endeavours, and thanks them for the work that they have done.
