BVA Guidance on Illegally Imported Pets
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes new guidance by the British Veterinary Association (BVA) for vets wishing to report suspected illegally imported pets in Scotland; notes that this guidance will be sent to its members as well as being shared online and in the industry press; understands that vets can often be the first to suspect that an animal may have been illegally imported when a client brings their pet in for its first check-up, making it vitally important that a proper, clear reporting procedure is in place; believes that this will contribute to efforts to end the illegal importation of animals, and congratulates the BVA on this work.
