Peebles Recovery Ball
The motion
That the Parliament commends the organisers of the Peebles Recovery Ball for raising £13,310 for the fire-damaged Peebles High School; understands that the ball was held at the Peebles Hydro and that the money was raised through ticket sales, a prize draw and an auction; notes that 220 people attended the ball and that there was entertainment from the Fiona Henderson School of Dance, the Peebles Ex-Serviceman’s Pipe Band, and Evan Balfour and the Back Green Band; acknowledges that donations were gifted for the auction from across the country, and ranged from golf at Gleneagles to a boxing session with the former world champion, Alex Arthur MBE; thanks the organisers, Ross Duncan and Mark Thompson, for their hard work in putting on the ball, and wishes them all the best for their next charity event in September 2020.
