Kilwinning's Segdoune Queen 2020
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Kelsie McKelvie on being chosen as Kilwinning's 53rd Segdoune Queen for 2020; understands that, traditionally, the Royal Party is selected from P7 children of Kilwinning but, this year, the children were picked across P6 and P7; notes that Segdoune is an ancient name for Kilwinning, possibly meaning Saint’s town; understands that Margaret Simpson was crowned the first Segdoune Queen in McGavin Park in 1947 following a carnival and fancy dress parade, complete with decorated floats and a pipe band; congratulates Kelsie on her achievement, and wishes her all the best for her royal engagements over the coming year.
