Farmers Choir Performs at Glasgow Royal Concert Hall
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the Farmers Choir on its recent performance at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall on 23 February 2020 in aid of the charity, Maggie’s; notes that the Farmers Choir, which is made up of over 100 members and has performed at locations throughout Scotland, including in the Parliament, has the aim of raising awareness of the importance of camaraderie in rural life in Scotland and, in so doing, works to tackle loneliness and social isolation; understands that the money raised by the Farmers Choir through singing at the concert will allow Maggie’s to provide further emotional, practical and financial support to people diagnosed with cancer, as well as to their families and friends; thanks the Farmers Choir Conductor, Kate Picken, for her dedication and hard work in growing the choir and in achieving the success that it has had up until now; further thanks all the members of the choir who give up their time to participate and perform, and wishes them well for the future.
