The motion

That the Parliament recognises the work of the Women Against State Pension Inequality (WASPI) campaigners ahead of International Women’s Day on 8 March 2020; notes that these women have now spent years campaigning for fairer transitional arrangements for those whose state pension age was raised from 60 to 66 as they neared retirement with little notice given; understands that this change caused much upheaval and difficulties for those who were counting on being able to receive their state pension on a certain date; considers that campaigners do not fundamentally disagree with pension ages being equalised for men and women, but that they object to the abrupt manner in which it has been implemented, and hopes to see what it considers proper redress by the UK Government for the WASPI women in future.
