Bishopbriggs Pupils Through to National Engineering Competition Final
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the Bishopbriggs Academy pupils, Jade McLetchie and Lauren Taylor, who will represent the school in the finals of a national engineering contest, The Big Bang UK Young Scientists & Engineers Competition, which will be held in Birmingham between 11 and 14 March 2020; understands that the pupils reached the finals after competing successfully in online heats; acknowledges that their invention proposal, DETECER, is a wearable band that can predict and prevent allergic reactions through detecting a change in histamine levels to aid speedier and accurate administering of medication, and wishes Jade and Lauren the very best of luck with their project, which it considers is both highly innovative and presents great potential benefit for people with severe allergies.
