Joe Fernand Named Tweeddale Citizen of the Year
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Joe Fernand, who is from Romanno Bridge, on being named Tweeddale Citizen of the Year; understands that Joe was presented with the award on account of his extensive voluntary efforts, which include football coaching, sitting as a board member of the Newlands Community Development Trust and acting as Chair of the Newlands kids, pre-school and out-of-school club; notes that Joe was previously the Chair/Leader of the Castle Craig Scout Group and was also one of the volunteers who saved Newlands Primary School from closure in 2004; commends Joe for all his hard work in supporting the local community, and wishes him all the best for the future.
