20 Years of Haddington Farmers’ Market

That the Parliament congratulates Haddington Farmers’ Market on its 20th anniversary, which will be celebrated at the market on 25 April 2020; understands that Haddington, widely recognised as the "friendly farmers’ market", was one of the first to be established in Scotland and has continued to provide a monthly opportunity for high-quality local producers to sell their unique range of products to consumers; believes that the market’s success has helped to support jobs and contribute to the area's economy by bringing people to the town centre and giving businesses an opportunity to promote their goods and build their brands; recognises what it sees as the wider benefits for the economy, jobs, environment and health that is provided by Scotland’s excellent farmers’ markets; commends the volunteer organisers on the Haddington Farmers’ Market Committee for establishing, maintaining and growing the market and for upholding the important principles of farmers’ markets, and wishes them, the stallholders and everyone else involved with the market continued success.
