Motion · S5M-21542 · 22 Apr 2020
Nether Abbey Hotel
The motion
That the Parliament commends the Nether Abbey Hotel in North Berwick for providing free rooms to key workers during the COVID-19 lockdown; understands that the hotel's owners, Jela and Stirling Stewart, have so far hosted engineers carrying out essential work at Torness power station, a company representative who was brought up from the South of England to repair vital agricultural equipment and NHS staff working night shifts; notes that the hotel is taking strict measures to ensure the safety of its guests and that rooms are vacated for 72 hours before a deep clean takes place in order to minimise the risk of infection; thanks Jela and Stirling for their hard work in supporting key workers, and wishes them all the best.
