Dollar Academy Pupil, Zuzana Hudácová

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Zuzana Hudácová, who is originally from Slovakia and is a pupil at Dollar Academy pupil, on earning a place at the 62nd London International Youth Science Forum (LIYSF) following her success in the Big Bang Competition with her project, Neurogenesis from Stem Cells; notes that Zuzana investigated the formation of the nervous system, work that earned her a judges special recognition; acknowledges that this biological process can sometimes lead to problems such as spina bifida and that Zuzana looked into potentially ground-breaking models of stem cell treatment to deal with this, conducting her own experiments; recognises that, although the LIYSF has been postponed until 2021 because of the COVID-19 outbreak, Zuzana has submitted a video presentation that will be judged by 50 STEM professionals; notes that the this was created by her while in isolation as she was travelling between Scotland and Slovakia; understands that she will receive a fully-funded place at the rearranged 15-day LIYSF next year, which will offer her a chance to learn from some of the world's top scientists and meet students from over 75 countries who share her passion for knowledge, and commends Zuzana on her truly exceptional and diligent work.
