Celebrating the 46th UN World Environment Day, Time for Nature
The motion
That the Parliament acknowledges 5 June 2020 as the 46th World Environment Day, as championed by the UN; notes that this year’s theme, Time for Nature, promotes the protection of biodiversity, highlighting the crucial human dependency on a healthy planet; commends the work of non-governmental organisations globally in their efforts to fight against climate change and for the protection of the environment; recognises what it sees as the need for Scotland to continue with decarbonisation of the economy and the development of the "green economy", ans supports further work to ensure that Scotland plays its part in the international effort against climate change and the protection of biodiversity in its many forms.
