The motion

That the Parliament welcomes the funding of over £22,000 given to Strathcarron Hospice by the Grangemouth-based manufacturer, INEOS, which will be used to fund the Hospice@Home service for July 2020; understands that Hospice@Home is the only service of its kind in Scotland and is built to enable people to remain at home, surrounded by everyone and everything they love, in their last weeks of life; notes that the number of people referred to this service over recent months due to the COVID-19 pandemic has increased significantly; acknowledges that the service is funded and run entirely from the donations it receives; recognises that INEOS launched its Community Fund in April 2020 as part of its commitment to help charities and community groups through the pandemic; notes that it has supported a wide range of causes, including food banks, hospices, homeless centres and mental health and domestic abuse services to help support people most in need at this difficult time; recognises that Strathcarron Hospice was nominated by staff at INEOS in recognition of its services to its patients and families in the area at incredibly difficult times in their lives; thanks the staff of the hospice for their continued dedication to the care of others; congratulates INEOS for its donations to community groups in the Falkirk district and across Scotland, and wishes everyone involved the very best for the future.
