National Road Victim Month 2020
The motion
That the Parliament acknowledges that August is National Road Victim Month 2020; notes that this is organised annually by RoadPeace, which is the national charity for road crash victims in the UK; recognises that it aims to remember people who have been killed or injured on the country's road sand that August was designated as the awareness month as Princess Diana was killed on 31 August 1997; recognises that RoadPeace provides people affected by road crashes with emotional and practical support and advocacy and organises awareness events, fundraising activities and a helpline that provides practical support; acknowledges the excellent local work carried out by organisations such as Safe Drive, Stay Alive, which operates many road safety activities, including interactive stage events that are aimed at raising awareness of car and driving safety among young people, and sends its best wishes to everyone involved with National Road Victim Month.
