Multimillion-pound Investment for Valneva, Livingston
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the manufacturing company, Valneva, on being awarded upfront investment from the UK Government following agreement to secure 60 million COVID-19 vaccine doses; understands that the company currently employs more than 100 people at its Livingston facility and that this number is scheduled to double, supporting the jobs of more than 100 new highly-skilled scientists and technicians, which will bolster Scotland's world leading research sector and, hopefully, save lives; believes that the pandemic has been the biggest challenge of most people's lifetime; hopes that this cutting edge work on the search for a vaccine will give hope across the globe, and wishes all management and staff at Valneva, current and to be recruited, every success.
