Dave Kerr, Fundraising for the Fire Fighters Charity

The motion

That the Parliament commends Dave Kerr, who is firefighter from North Berwick, on raising over £1,000 for the Fire Fighters Charity by organising a sponsored head-shaving event; understands that Dave had the idea for this after losing his hair while undergoing radiation treatment and chemotherapy for multiple myeloma, which is a type of bone marrow cancer; notes that 16 of his friends, family and colleagues will have their heads shaved on 26 August 2020 at North Berwick fire station, at an event that will also see a fashion show take place; recognises that Dave is raising the money for the charity in recognition of the support that it provided following his diagnosis; notes that 11 firefighters from his station will be among those shaving their heads; thanks Dave for this fundraising, and wishes him and all of his fellow participants all the best.
