Dumfries and Galloway College’s Role in the Fight Against COVID-19

The motion

That the Parliament recognises and appreciates the way in which Dumfries and Galloway College has acted in order to keep its college community safe throughout the COVID-19 pandemic; understands that the college was, and continues to be, at the forefront of taking the steps needed to ensure that health and safety measures are in place to ensure the safety of staff and students at its twin campuses in Dumfries and Stranraer; congratulates the college on keeping learning and teaching going by using cutting edge technology and innovative methods, including its online College Academy, as well as the expertise of its entire team in achieving this; acknowledges the key role that the college has played in making sure that its local services have the resources and infrastructure that they need to do their jobs properly; recognises the fact that the college has donated food, vehicles and technology to those who need them most as part of the fight against the virus; applauds the generosity, compassion and decision-making of the Principal, Joanna Campbell, and her team in achieving this success, and wishes them all the best for the future.
