Our Lady’s High School Personal Development Team’s Care Packages for Hospital Patients
The motion
That the Parliament commends the pupils in the Personal Development Class at Our Lady’s High School in Motherwell for engaging in a project to create care packages for patients at University Hospital Wishaw in a mission to help those in a hospital setting feel at ease during their stay; recognises that the class is working towards the SQA award in Personal Development and engages in projects both personally and in ones that are community based; understands that this year the class faces a greater challenge in constructing projects that adhere to the current guidelines of the COVID-19 pandemic; appreciates that the packages will be designed for three types of patients, including those in emergency care, dementia patients and those in the Cancer Care Unit; notes that pupils are engaging with local businesses and are fundraising to provide the items for the packages; understands that they have made excellent connections with hospital staff and are working in conjunction with them to finely tune the contents for each group of patients, and wishes pupils and staff, as well as patients at University Hospital Wishaw, all the best.
