170 Open University Students in Motherwell and Wishaw
The motion
That the Parliament recognises that 170 residents of Motherwell and Wishaw are currently studying at the Open University (OU); notes that OU is a fantastic option for students of all ages to further their studies through a series of courses and programmes; understands that social justice is at the core of OU education, as it is accessible to all, regardless of age, income, qualification or geographical location; acknowledges that 39% of OU students in Motherwell and Wishaw study STEM subjects, followed by 27% studying social studies, with other subjects studied including business and law, arts and humanities, education, subjects allied to medicine, and languages, and wishes all students the best in their studies.
