Inverclyde Partnership Creating Emotional Wellbeing Service for School Students
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the partnership working of Action for Children, Inverclyde Council and Inverclyde Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP), which has resulted in the creation of an emotional wellbeing service to help students across Inverclyde; understands that the £1.2 million, three-year project aims to reach Inverclyde’s six secondary schools, 20 primaries, two additional support needs schools and two independent schools during its first year; notes that this provision was identified by young people as a direct outcome of the "Clyde Conversations" held locally as part of the HSCP’s outreach strategy planning events; further notes that the new service will promote young people’s emotional health and wellbeing while increasing their resilience through a range of therapeutic support, including targeted 1:1 counselling and group work, as well as preventative activities; acknowledges that the service will also provide support to parents and families, teachers and other professionals; commends Action for Children for its long history of providing services in Inverclyde from employability to family support to youth justice, and wishes this new emotional wellbeing service great success.
