Motion · S5M-22567 · 27 Aug 2020
Justice for WASPI Women
The motion
That the Parliament notes the forthcoming visit to Scotland by Guy Opperman, the UK pensions minister; considers it unfair the way that women born in the 1950s have been treated in relation to the state pension; believes that rectifying this would be an important step forward for gender equality; notes that there was a unanimous vote in the House of Commons calling for the UK Government to rectify this anomaly, and urges it to take action on this as a matter of urgency.
