That the Parliament welcomes CalMac Ferries Community Investment Programmes, which aim to improve social and economic outcomes for west coast communities; commends the company’s Sponsorship Programme, which helps to support events and festivals that attract visitors to the west coast of Scotland and which, in 2019, supported 37 events, including the Royal National Mod and other cultural, live music and food and drinks festivals; recognises CalMac’s work with the Wood Foundation Youth and Philanthropy Initiative (YPI), in which it is a community partner with 10 schools to help young people recognise and tackle social issues by identifying a charity within their community to receive an award to support their work; congratulates CalMac on the launch of this year's CalMac Community Fund, which in 2019 made 76 awards of up to £2,000 to non-profit organisations, helping to create opportunities for children and young people, and notes that, in 2020, this is open for applications on 1 October to support non-profit organisations to address issues of loneliness, mental health, social isolation and poverty.
