Lodged by Alexander Burnett (Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party)
Standard Motion 14 supporters
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the news that Rystad Energy will be investing £26 billion in carbon capture and storage between now and 2035, with most capacity coming in the UK; notes that one of the first three projects will be Acorn CCS at St Fergus, near Peterhead; believes that these projects will be game-changing as they will de-risk the overall carbon capture and storage uncertainty, and notes the importance of big scale-developments in carbon capture and storage to achieve net-zero targets in Scotland and the UK.
