Lodged by Alexander Stewart Standard Motion 15 supporters

The motion

That the Parliament welcomes the news that a new public access defibrillator and cabinet have been installed at The Cochranes in Alva; understands this is the third such potentially lifesaving device to be installed in the town after Margie Knox, who is one of the residents at The Cochranes, suggested it to the directors of the charity; notes that, with the aid of a grant from the British Heart Foundation, the device was unveiled by Margie in September 2020, alongside the chair of the Cochrane Foundation, Martin Dunsmore; acknowledges that the Foundation was established by the Alva-born brothers, James, Charles and John Cochrane who emigrated with their parents to the United States in 1865; notes that they established the charity to support people in the town who were in need and that they also gifted the Cochrane Hall and Park to the residents and made a donation to Alva Academy, and sends its best wishes to Margie and everyone involved with the Foundation.
