AMIS Shortlisted for the 2020 National Diversity Awards
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates AMIS (Abused Men In Scotland) on being shortlisted for the 2020 National Diversity Awards; understands that the awards ceremony will be held in February 2021 and will honour positive role models, entrepreneurs and community organisations within the equality and diversity sector; understands that AMIS is Scotland’s leading charity for men who experience domestic abuse and was founded in 2010 by Alison Waugh, who previously provided evidence on the issue to the Scottish Government; notes that AMIS, originally based in Dunfermline and now based in Edinburgh, operates a national helpline, website, training services and supported 450 individual clients in 2019; recognises the contribution made by the staff and management of AMIS, and wishes them every success at the upcoming National Diversity Awards.
