Funding Boost for Maud Railway Museum
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Friends of Maud Railway Museum on being awarded £20,750 by Museums Galleries Scotland; notes that the money comes from Museums Galleries Scotland’s Recovery and Resilience Fund, which aims to secure the future of Scottish independent museums put at risk by the COVID-19 pandemic; understands that this award will allow Friends of Maud Railway Museum to upgrade its facilities, which will better enable the museum to develop and build partnerships with local organisations; acknowledges that this upgrade will also ensure that the museum can offer a valued service to walkers and cyclists using the Formartine and Buchan Way; recognises the important role that museums play in Scotland’s cultural life; commends Friends of Maud Railway Museum for the work that it does, and wishes the museum well.
