Gairloch Museum Named as an Art Fund Museum of the Year
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Gairloch Museum on being named a Museum of the Year by Art Fund; notes that it will share the £200,000 prize with four other museums from across the UK, including Aberdeen Art Gallery; believes that museums, like the rest of the visitor economy, face significant challenges due to COVID-19; welcomes the Scottish Government’s £4 million support for independent museums through the Museums Galleries Scotland Recovery and Resilience Fund, and believes that independent museums are vital community assets that have a crucial role to play in the recovery of the tourist economy.
