Funding Welcomed for Town Break SCIO

The motion

That the Parliament acknowledges the crucial role of the third sector in improving the lived experiences of people with dementia and their families; commends the work of Town Break SCIO, which provides day clubs, befriending activities and a range of support services for people affected by early to moderate stage dementia, including loved ones, in the Stirling local authority area; welcomes the award of £120,000 by the National Lottery Community Fund to the charity, which will enable further such projects and support programmes, and hopes that, through medical advancement, understanding and empathy, people diagnosed with dementia can continue to lead fulfilling lives with dignity and love.
