The Point and Sandwick Trust's Response to COVID-19
The motion
That the Parliament commends the Point and Sandwick Trust on the impressive level of work that it has undertaken to support the people of these Outer Hebrides' communities throughout the period since the COVID-19 lockdown began; notes that it has provided at least 5,110 cooked meals to older and vulnerable households, 3,373 additional emergency food and meal packages to households in need and supported 1,556 shop food deliveries to some 185 households; acknowledges that, in doing so, it has shown leadership and enabled the communities it supports to build resilience at a time of crisis, creating three jobs and 58 volunteer roles, and recognises the invaluable contribution the Trust has made to the mental health and physical wellbeing of everyone in Point and Sandwick.
