Doddie Weir Inducted to the Scottish Rugby Hall of Fame

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Doddie Weir, who is from the Scottish Borders, on being inducted as the 27th member of Scottish Rugby’s Hall of Fame, which celebrates the country's ultimate rugby ambassadors and includes the prominent Borderers, Chris Patterson, Ned Haig, Bill McLaren, Jim Telfer, Hugh McLeod, Jim Renwick, Gary Armstrong, David Leslie, John Rutherford, Douglas Elliot and Mark Robertson; recognises Doddie's 61 caps for Scotland and participation in the British Lions' 1997 tour; appreciates his inspiring work through the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation to raise millions of pounds for MND research and support following his diagnosis with the condition in 2016, and celebrates Doddie's contribution to rugby over the years.
