Babes in the Wood Bishopbriggs
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the latest round of National Lottery Community Funding to organisations throughout Strathkelvin and Bearsden; notes that Babes in the Wood Bishopbriggs CIC received £10,000 from the Fund; understands that this funding will be used to help meet the overhead costs of the group's community shop in Bishopbriggs during the COVID-19 pandemic; believes that these core expenses need to be met to safeguard services in order to return to operations post-pandemic; praises the operations of the group, which has provided a critical service in East Dunbartonshire to reduce poverty and improve environmental sustainability; believes that the organisation offers a critical outlet in the community, providing tailored support to families by providing children’s toys, equipment and clothing; welcomes its annual Christmas donation drive, which has been adapted to suit COVID-19 regulations to ensure that all children in need throughout the community can receive a present; praises the incredible work and support provided by the group, and wishes it and everyone involved all future success.
