West Lothian College Students Excel in UK Culinary Competition
The motion
That the Parliament recognises that creative approaches to teaching by West Lothian College lecturers are ensuring that its professional cookery students continue to have a rich learning experience despite the pandemic restrictions; notes that the college’s training restaurant was recently transformed into a socially-distanced competition area recently to allow students to compete with other colleges across the UK in the British Student Culinary Competition 2020, which was hosted online via Zoom by the Craft Guild of Chefs; congratulates the HNC and Level 6 Professional Cookery students from the College who took part in six different challenges and achieved 17 Gold, 11 Silver, 13 Bronze and three Merit awards, and commends the lecturers, Audrey Buckley, Paul Devonshire and Alex Sykakis for arranging such an excellent learning activity for their students.
