Dumfries and Galloway College, Green Gown Award Nominations
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the students and staff of Dumfries and Galloway College on being successfully nominated in two categories at the Green Gown Awards 2020; understands that the awards are among the most important accolades for positive contributions to the environment anywhere in the world; appreciates that the college has received this distinction in the Next Generation Learning and Skills and Sustainability Institution of the Year Award categories for its projects, Finally! Success, for remote teaching and learning, and D&G A, for green regions; considers that these nominations represent a deep and sustained commitment to environmental preservation at Dumfries and Galloway College, which has resulted in it becoming a leading and exemplary institution in terms of cutting carbon emissions, green initiatives, recycling and renewables, and green technologies; appreciates the contribution that the leadership of Principal Joanna Campbell and her team has had in promoting this positive ethos at the college, and wishes the college the very best of luck for the awards when they are announced in 2021.
