Lodged by Clare Adamson (Scottish National Party) Standard Motion 12 supporters

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the Motherwell-based students, Bobbi Arnott and Olivia Muir, on winning a competition to set up a café in the new park at Ravenscraig; understands that the competition was run by North Lanarkshire Council and New College Lanarkshire, in partnership with Business Gateway Lanarkshire, Young Enterprise Scotland and North Lanarkshire Properties, for students looking to inject creativity into helping their community; recognises that the start-up opportunity was made possible through projects funded by the Scottish Government’s Vacant and Derelict Land Fund and the Regeneration Capital Grant Fund; notes that, since completing the NQ Level 5 Craft Bakery and Level 6 Pastry Chef course, Bobbi and Olivia are continuing their studies in HNC Professional Cookery Patisserie while preparing to start up their business when the park opens in 2021, and hopes that the café will be a key feature of the new park, providing great food in an outdoor setting for the whole community to enjoy.
