Girls in Scotland 2020 Report
The motion
That the Parliament notes the recently published report, Girls in Scotland 2020, which outlines the experiences of girls and young women living in Scotland; understands that the report surveyed over 500 girls and young women in Scotland aged seven to 21; acknowledges that it highlights gender inequalities experienced by many girls and young women and also notes the main challenges and issues that young women and girls feel are important to them; notes with concern that many young women and girls in Scotland, including in the Caithness, Sutherland and Ross constituency, feel excluded because of their gender from participating fully in Scottish civic life, and commends the work of Girlguiding Scotland in bringing these concerns to the attention of decision makers in Scotland.
