Youth Connections Celebrates £25,000 Cash Boost
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Youth Connections on receiving a £25,000 grant from the Inspiring Scotland’s Creative Communities Fund; understands that this will support its Power to Change initiative, which aims to set up an arts community hub for people across Inverclyde with weekly access to local artists; notes that the project is being run in conjunction with Youth Connections, Access Technology Scotland, the artist, Alec Galloway, and Louise Wylie; recognises that it will offer a range of arts-based workshops to help groups and individuals promote community spirit by encouraging people of different ages to work together on projects, and will also look to help people develop new skills to improve life opportunities and mental wellbeing through socialising; acknowledges that, due to COVID-19, the project will initially focus on delivering online activity; appreciates that the initiative was launched through a virtual visit from the Cabinet Secretary for Economy, Fair Work and Culture, and wishes the project every success.
