Motion · S5M-23636 · 8 Dec 2020
UK National Workplace Day of Remembrance
The motion
That the Parliament acknowledges that 12 December marks the UK National Workplace Day of Remembrance; notes that the day was established in 2019 and is planned to be marked on the same date annually; understands that this is a time to remember everyone who have lost their lives at work, whatever their job, occupation or vocation, at whatever level and in whatever industry, and to recognise their service and sacrifice to the economy; believes that it is important for all to demonstrate collective respect by briefly ceasing work and observing a minute’s silence at noon, and considers it appropriate that workplaces that possess the Union Flag should fly these at half-mast for the day.
