Asthma UK Online Tool
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the creation of an online severe asthma tool by Asthma UK; understand that the online tool will provide patients with ways to improve their condition and let them know whether to ask their GP about a severe asthma referral; recognises that the tool will inform patients if they could benefit from talking to their specialist about whether they are receiving the correct and tailored treatment for their condition, such as biological medicines; understands that one in 14 people are currently receiving treatment for asthma in Scotland; further understands that, between 2014 and 2018, more than 500 people have died from an asthma attack in Scotland; praises the efforts of charities, such as Asthma UK, to raise awareness of severe asthma and good asthma management in Scotland, and encourages everyone affected by the condition, and parents and carers, to access Asthma UK’s website for further information and education.
