The motion

That the Parliament congratulates everyone at Collydean Community Centre in Glenrothes for the hard work that they do and for playing a key role in supporting families and individuals during the COVID-19 pandemic; understands that the community centre is a not-for-profit charitable organisation that lies at the heart of Collydean and serves the Collydean, Pitcairn, Formonthills, Balgeddie and Coul communities in Glenrothes, providing vital services for the area, supported by a team of over 80 volunteers; commends the centre for distributing food to those in crisis throughout the last year, as well as recently employing community champions to work at a local level to provide direct support for those who require it; welcomes the roll-out of the centre's digital connections support service to help people access technology and communicate online, which has become vital due to restrictions on meetings in person; recognises that the centre also operates a shopping and prescription collection service for those shielding or self-isolating, as well as a youth club and a befriending service, and believes that frontline workers and volunteers such as these deserve everyone's thanks and recognition for their delivery of first-class support to communities throughout the pandemic.
