The motion

That the Parliament commends Morrisons in Alloa for helping residents get into the festive spirit by giving out a variety of gifts in the lead up to Christmas; understands that the supermarket has been carrying out acts of kindness in recent weeks in a bid to lift people's spirits during the COVID-19 lockdown restrictions; acknowledges that Christmas trees were sent out to care homes at the Orchard in Tullibody, Beechwood Park in Sauchie and the day care and respite service at Ludgate House in Alloa; understands that the supermarket's community champion, Jayne Lindfield, engaged with everyone who had requests and organised 10 festive hampers for the Wee County Veterans group, in addition to 25 hampers for older residents; notes that she also sent out biscuits and drinks for the staff in Alloa’s Royal Mail delivery office; understands that the supermarket collected and donated dozens of toys to Home-Start Clackmannanshire to make sure every child in the area receives a present this year; notes that flowers and chocolates were also handed out in the store, and that hundreds of boxes of chocolates were taken up to Forth Valley Royal Hospital, and commends Jayne, her colleagues and Morrisons for their exceptionally magnanimous gestures.
