New UK Government COVID-19 Testing Sites Open in Fife

The motion

That the Parliament welcomes the two walk-through COVID-19 testing centres in Fife that were opened on 21 January 2021; understands that the UK Government centres, at Dell Farquharson House in Dunfermline and Glenrothes Miners Charitable Society, are part of the largest network of diagnostic testing facilities ever developed; notes that, in Scotland, this comprises of six drive-through and 28 walk-through sites, 21 mobile units and the Glasgow Lighthouse Lab, which is working around the clock to process samples; understands that the UK Government is providing around two thirds of all daily tests in Scotland and all non-NHS COVID-19 testing and test processing; acknowledges that people displaying COVID-19 symptoms can book a test by visiting nhsinform.scot/test-and-protect or calling 0800 028 2816, and applauds the testing staff, volunteers, scientists and health workers on their tireless efforts for the benefit of people in Scotland and the rest of the UK.
