Swansons Food transfers to employee ownership
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the news that Inverness-based Swansons Food Wholesalers, which specialises in fresh, locally-grown produce, has been transferred to employee ownership; notes that more than 40 staff now have a stake in the business; understands that the company has been operating in the region for 30 years; believes that an employee ownership model helps to secure jobs and create a fairer, more sustainable economy, and wishes the workers at Swansons Food Wholesalers all the best for the future.
