Lodged by Clare Adamson (Scottish National Party) Standard Motion 16 supporters

The motion

That the Parliament notes with sadness the passing of Milo, a guide dog from Lanarkshire who, since 2012, helped his owner, Scott Cunningham MBE from Larkhall, raise large amounts for charity; understands that Milo, who was a lively Labrador, was a frequent visitor to the Parliament and helped Scott and friends raise over £250,000 for good causes, including the Rangers Charity Foundation, Guide Dogs, ABF the Soldiers Charity and the Haven, through organising gala balls and climbing hills and mountains, locally and further afield; recognises that Scott and his friends have named around 25 pups through the Name a Pup initiative, which enables people to name guide dog pups after raising £5,000 for a charitable cause; notes that Scott and Milo were featured in the ITV series, Me and My Guide Dog, highlighting the immense work that they did; acknowledges that, in 2014, Scott carried the Baton at the Commonwealth Games and walked with Milo as part of The Queen's Baton Relay, and that Milo has accompanied him on various Kiltwalks, including the Virtual Kiltwalk in September 2020 along the Clyde Walkway, raising funds for Guide Dogs; acknowledges that this was Milo’s last charity walk and concluded in Motherwell town centre, and sends Scott its very best wishes at this sad time.
