Astley Ainslie Community Trust
The motion
That the Parliament acknowledges the publication of a feasibility study on the prospects for community ownership and development of the Astley Ainslie site in South Edinburgh; notes the Astley Ainslie Community Trust’s announcement that it will now seek to engage with a wide range of individuals and organisations with an interest in how the site might best be utilised in the future; believes that the Astley Ainslie site is an area of outstanding landscaped parkland with many mature trees and is much valued by residents, and notes hopes that any future development on the site preserves important urban greenspace while providing public benefit for the community alongside much-needed housing.
